Venetian Blinds Melbourne
Venetian blinds remain one of the most practical and enduringly popular window furnishing choices for Melbourne homes, offices, and rental properties — and for good reason. Their horizontal slat design gives you precise, continuous control over natural light, airflow, and privacy in a way that roller blinds and curtains simply cannot match. At New World of Blinds, we’ve been manufacturing and installing custom venetian blinds across Melbourne since 2005, making everything at our own Campbellfield facility and backing every product and installation with our full 5-year warranty.
As a family-owned business run by Matt and Oz, we don’t outsource, import, or rely on third-party installers. Every venetian blind we supply is custom-measured, custom-made at our Campbellfield facility, and installed by our own experienced team — so when we say the fit will be perfect, we mean it in the most direct sense.
What Are Venetian Blinds?
Venetian blinds consist of horizontal slats suspended from a headrail and connected by fabric or cord ladders. The slats rotate in unison via a smooth tilting mechanism, giving you stepless control from fully open — where natural light enters freely — to a fully closed position that provides shade, insulation, and complete privacy. The entire blind lifts cleanly to one side when not needed, leaving the window fully unobstructed.
This light-control versatility is what makes venetian blinds so consistently useful across different room types and orientations. A kitchen window facing west in summer can be tilted to redirect harsh afternoon sun upward toward the ceiling rather than directly into the room. A north-facing home office can be adjusted throughout the day to balance natural light against screen glare. A bathroom can be fully closed for privacy and fully opened for ventilation — all within the same blind.
Our Three Material Options
We supply venetian blinds in three materials, each suited to different environments and aesthetic preferences. Our team brings samples to your home during the free measure and quote visit so you can assess each option in your own lighting conditions before deciding.
Aluminium Venetian Blinds
Our most popular and versatile option. Aluminium venetian blinds are lightweight, sleek, and highly durable — the natural choice for contemporary homes, modern offices, and any space where moisture resistance matters. Available in 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm slat widths across a wide range of colours and anodised finishes, they work in both minimalist contemporary interiors and more traditional layouts. Aluminium slats resist warping and staining in humid environments, making them equally suited to kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms.
Timber (Basswood) Venetian Blinds
For homeowners who want warmth, texture, and natural character, timber venetian blinds in premium basswood are our recommendation. The natural grain adds visual depth and warmth that aluminium or PVC simply cannot replicate — popular in living rooms, dining areas, home offices, and bedrooms where a classic, considered aesthetic is the goal. Available in 50mm and 63mm slat widths in a range of natural timber stains and painted finishes.
PVC Venetian Blinds
PVC venetian blinds offer the highest moisture resistance of our three options, making them the preferred choice for bathrooms, laundries, and any high-humidity environment. They are also highly durable in high-traffic settings, wipe clean effortlessly, and are available in a range of colours and finishes. For commercial spaces, hospitality venues, and rental properties where maintenance ease and longevity are the primary considerations, PVC venetian blinds are a genuinely cost-effective long-term solution. Available in 50mm and 63mm slat widths.
Slat Sizes and Colour Options
We offer the following slat configurations across our range:
- Aluminium: 25mm (fine, contemporary), 35mm (balanced, versatile), 50mm (bold, architectural)
- Timber & PVC: 50mm and 63mm (substantial, statement)
Every product in our range is available in a curated selection of colours, shades, and finishes — giving you the flexibility to coordinate your venetian blinds with your existing décor or to use them as a deliberate design statement.

Made Locally at Our Campbellfield Facility
Every venetian blind we supply is manufactured at our own facility at 11/10 Production Drive, Campbellfield. We do not import finished blinds or source from third-party manufacturers — everything is cut, assembled, and quality-checked at our facility before being delivered and installed at your home or commercial space. Because we control every stage of the process, we are accountable for the result: our name is on the product, our team installs it, and our 5-year warranty covers both.
Our direct manufacturing model also means competitive pricing. Without an importer’s margin stacked on top of a retailer’s margin, our pricing reflects true manufacturing cost — which means better value for homeowners and a practical trade supply arrangement for builders, developers, and property managers fitting out multiple properties.
Wholesale and Trade Supply
As established blind manufacturers and wholesale blinds suppliers in Melbourne, we work directly with builders, property developers, and property managers. Our manufacturing capacity supports volume orders with consistent quality and realistic turnaround times, making us a reliable partner for residential developments, commercial fit-outs, and rental portfolio management. Frequently Asked Questions
Aluminium venetian blinds are lightweight, sleek, and moisture-resistant — suitable for most rooms including kitchens and bathrooms. Timber (basswood) venetian blinds offer natural warmth and character, making them ideal for living rooms and bedrooms where an organic aesthetic is preferred. PVC venetian blinds have the highest moisture resistance of the three and suit bathrooms, laundries, and commercial high-traffic environments where durability and easy maintenance are the priority. Our team can show you samples of all three during your free in-home consultation.
PVC venetian blinds are our top recommendation for bathrooms and laundries due to their superior moisture resistance — they will not warp or discolour when exposed to steam and humidity over time. Aluminium venetian blinds are also a strong choice for kitchens and bathrooms, as aluminium handles moisture well without the susceptibility to warping that natural timber has. Timber venetian blinds are not recommended for high-humidity environments.
Yes — venetian blinds are one of the most practical window furnishing choices for rental properties. Aluminium and PVC options are durable, easy for tenants to maintain, resistant to damage in high-use environments, and photograph well for rental listings. They are also cost-effective compared to curtains or plantation shutters. New World of Blinds offers wholesale pricing for landlords and property managers fitting out single or multiple properties. Call 0422 786 077 to discuss your requirements.
Because all of our venetian blinds are custom-manufactured at our Campbellfield facility rather than sourced from a distributor, our lead times are generally faster than going through a retail chain. After your measure and quote is confirmed and the order placed, most Melbourne installations are completed within 2 to 4 weeks depending on order volume. We confirm the exact timeframe when your order is placed.
Yes. All venetian blinds supplied and installed by New World of Blinds are covered by our full 5-year warranty on both the product and the installation workmanship. If anything is not right within the warranty period, we will return to assess and rectify it at no cost to you.
